As shown in the figure, subjects applied with water and 6% CE (carbohydrate-electrolyte) solution have produced net fluid absorption, whereas applied with the 10% glucose solution have produced net fluid secretion. Meanwhile, fluid absorption from the 6% CE solution was significantly higher than the water (almost 45% increase).
